Riverside Park in the center of town has a brand new playground. Workers finished installing the new equipment last Tuesday. The playground now has three new slides, two swings, and a large climbing frame. The town council said the old equipment was more than fifteen years old and needed replacing.

"We want children to have a safe and fun place to play," said councillor Jane Porter. "This new playground will be great for families." The council spent £35,000 on the new equipment.

The park is open every day from seven in the morning until nine at night. Children of all ages are welcome to use the new playground. Parents should always stay close to young children while they play. Local families have already said they love the new space.
