Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of interactiveenglish.app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

Who we are

InterActive English is operated by Benjamin Pfeifer, a sole proprietor based in the United States. Contact: ben@pcityenglish.com.

Who can use the service

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you may only use InterActive English with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Your account

Use a valid email address, keep your password secure, and don’t share your account with others. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, email us right away.

Free and Pro plans

The free plan gives you access to sample exercises across every skill, plus 15 AI interactions per month. Pro removes that limit and unlocks the full library.

Pro costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, in US dollars. If we change our prices, we’ll tell you in advance, and the change won’t affect a billing period you’ve already paid for.

Billing, renewal, and cancellation

• Subscriptions renew automatically. Your card is charged through Stripe at the start of each billing period and will keep renewing until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime. Go to your dashboard and click Manage Subscription, which opens Stripe’s billing portal where you can cancel in a couple of clicks.
• Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current paid period. You keep full Pro access until that date, and you won’t be charged again.
• If a payment fails and can’t be recovered, Pro access may end.

Refunds

Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Cancelling stops future charges but doesn’t refund the period you’re currently in. That said, if something has gone genuinely wrong, email us — we handle refund requests case by case and would rather sort it out than leave you unhappy.

Acceptable use

Please don’t:

• Resell, republish, or redistribute our exercises, passages, or explanations.
• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy content from the site.
• Share one account among multiple people.
• Send automated or bulk requests through the AI features, or otherwise use them in a way that isn’t normal personal study.
• Upload unlawful, abusive, or infringing content.
• Attempt to break, probe, or circumvent the security of the service.

AI-generated content

A lot of what you see here — exercises, feedback, explanations, definitions — is generated or evaluated by AI systems. AI output can be wrong. It may contain grammatical errors, give an explanation that doesn’t fit your level, or occasionally state something inaccurate with total confidence.

Treat InterActive English as a practice tool, not as an authority. It is not a substitute for a qualified teacher, and it is not professional, legal, medical, or academic advice. If something matters — an exam answer, a work document, a certification — verify it independently.

Your content

Anything you write stays yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to run the service — which includes sending your text to our AI providers so they can generate feedback for you. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what happens to that text and what we do and don’t store.

Our content

The exercises, reading passages, explanations, design, and branding on this site belong to us or are used under license. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-commercial right to use them for your own learning — not to redistribute them or use them to build a competing product.

Availability

We work to keep the service running well, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You can stop using the service at any time, and you can delete your account and data yourself from your dashboard — doing so cancels any active subscription, and you keep access for the rest of a period you’ve already paid for only if you cancel instead of deleting. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll change the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
